Master The Art Of Raku Firing

Raku firing is one of the most dynamic and rewarding processes in ceramics, but most people don’t fully understand what’s actually behind the magic.

This free guide will give you a clear introduction to the process, what you need to get started, and what separates consistent results from complete guesswork.

Step into the world of fire, smoke, and transformation with a complete start-to-finish Online Raku Firing Course. Whether you’re new to Raku or looking to refine your results, this program gives you the knowledge and confidence to fire with purpose, not guesswork.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Build and rigidize your own Raku kiln

  • Select clay bodies that survive thermal shock

  • Apply glazes that react beautifully to flame and atmosphere

  • Control the firing process from preheat to post-reduction

  • Finish, seal, and preserve your results for lasting impact

  • Use glaze chemistry charts to analyze and speak the language of Raku glazes

You’ll also receive exclusive access to The Fire Circle, a private student community where you can share your results, ask questions, and join our monthly live Q&As. With lifetime access to the course and community, you’ll gain the clarity and confidence to create Raku work that is bold, intentional, and uniquely your own.

This Raku course is amazing! As you know, I have attended several of your Raku firing sessions, and when watching these videos, I feel like I am right back there in person. Everything is explained so clearly, and the videos are very well done, showing every step during the process. As I started doing my own firings with my Raku kiln, the most challenging aspect was knowing when and how much to increase the heat. This aspect is shown in great detail, and having a chapter on the chemistry involved helps to better understand the whole process.

There are many videos on YouTube showing the Raku procedure, but they simply don’t go into the detail, with the clarity, that can make it a successful process. For persons interested in being able to do their own Raku firings from start to finish, there is finally a comprehensive course available that is extremely well done and enjoyable to watch.
