Be a Guest on the Center Yourself Podcast
Center Yourself is a long-form interview podcast hosted by Nate Winter where meaningful conversations happen while learning the pottery wheel. Each guest shares their story, experiences, and perspective while creating something with their hands.
If you’ve been invited or are inquiring about appearing on the show, this page outlines exactly what to expect.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome guests from a wide range of creative and entrepreneurial backgrounds, including:
• Artists of all mediums
• Entrepreneurs and business leaders
• Craftsmen and makers
• Musicians, filmmakers, and storytellers
• Stand-up comedians
• Creatives with unique life experiences and perspectives
Our goal is to feature people who are passionate about their work and open to sharing their journey.
What to Expect
A typical guest appearance includes:
Arrival & Setup
Guests should plan to be on set for approximately 2 hours total.
This includes:
• Getting mic’d and framed on camera
• A brief pottery wheel lesson before filming
• Time for setup and preparation
Pottery Lesson
Before filming begins, Nate will walk you through the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel so you feel comfortable during the conversation.
No pottery experience is required.
The Interview
The filmed conversation typically runs 60–90 minutes.
After editing, the final episode aims for about 60 minutes of interview footage, sometimes slightly longer depending on the conversation.
Where We Film
Episodes are currently filmed at a Pinecone Studio in Brunswick, Maine, located about 30 minutes outside of Portland.
The studio environment is relaxed and designed to make guests feel comfortable during the conversation.
We also provide basic food and beverage amenities on set.
When to Arrive
To keep filming days running smoothly, we ask that guests:
• Arrive 15 minutes prior to their call time
We often schedule 3–4 interviews per filming day, so punctuality helps ensure there are no delays for other guests.
Promotion & Audience Reach
Your episode will be shared across the Nate Winter Studios media ecosystem, which generated 37.7 million views across platforms last year.
Promotion typically includes:
• YouTube long-form episode / clips
• YouTube Shorts
• Instagram / Facebook Reels
• TikToks
• Podcast platforms including Spotify and Apple Podcasts
You will be tagged and invited as a collaborator on posts related to your episode. You are free to accept or decline any collaboration invites depending on what you’d like appearing on your timeline.
Why This Format Works
The pottery wheel creates a unique environment that helps guests relax and be themselves. Conversations tend to become more natural, thoughtful, and engaging than a traditional sit-down interview.
By combining creativity with storytelling, Center Yourself offers viewers a deeper look into the people behind the work.
