Why Is Nate Going On Tour?

Throughout 2027, every workshop, residency, visiting artist appearance, piece sold, and online course purchase will help fund my independent documentary series exploring the 400-year history of Raku. This tour is more than an opportunity to share my passion for ceramics. It is a way to bring together the community that has supported my work and help turn a long-held vision into reality.

Years in the making, this passion project will take me around the world to explore Raku’s origins, honor the ancient tradition, and trace its evolution into the 21st century. Through the places it has traveled, the artists who have shaped it, and the families and individuals who continue to carry its legacy, I hope to tell a story that connects centuries of history with the living tradition we know today. Every experience you share with me along the way helps bring that story one step closer to the big screen.
