Raku Kiln Packages

Complete Raku Kiln Package

$1,250.00

Nate Winter Studios Raku kilns are designed as durable, portable firing systems for Western Raku and related firing techniques. Each kiln package includes the essential components needed to establish a propane-fired Raku kiln setup.

What’s Included

Each kiln package includes:

  • 20-Gallon Raku Kiln Shell
A durable 20-gallon vessel converted and fabricated specifically for Raku firing.

  • Ceramic Fiber Insulation
The kiln interior is lined with ceramic fiber insulation and treated with a rigidizer coating to improve durability, extend the life of the fiber, and help limit the release of friable fiber particles during normal use.

  • Venturi Burner System
A complete Venturi burner system designed to connect to a propane tank and provide the heat necessary for Raku firing.

  • 10-Inch Custom Kiln Shelf
One 10-inch circular ceramic kiln shelf, custom-fabricated with two notches to provide easier and more secure access with Raku kiln tongs.

  • Three 6-Inch Kiln Posts
Three ceramic kiln posts used to elevate and support the first shelving layer inside the kiln.

Built for Long-Term Use

These kilns are designed to be incredibly durable. With proper operation, routine maintenance, and protection from the elements, a kiln setup can remain in service for decades and withstand hundreds, potentially thousands, of firings before major components require replacement.

Individual components such as ceramic fiber, kiln shelves, posts, or burner parts can also be maintained or replaced over time without replacing the entire kiln system.

Shipping, Pickup & Delivery

Kiln packages can be shipped throughout the continental United States, with local pickup and delivery options also available throughout New England.

Shipping and delivery costs typically range from $200–$400, depending on destination and current carrier rates. East Coast shipments generally average approximately $250–$300, while West Coast shipments typically fall between $300–$400.

All shipping costs are quoted in advance. Nate Winter Studios does not profit from shipping or handling fees. The actual shipping expense is passed directly to the customer, with a copy of the shipping receipt provided for reimbursement.

For local orders, pickup or delivery arrangements can be discussed when placing your order.

Purchasing Inquiry Form

This inquiry form helps me qualify kiln-building requests, confirm shipping eligibility based on your region, and better understand your experience and intended firing environment. Raku firing involves extreme temperatures, open flame, propane, and other potentially hazardous conditions, so I take due diligence seriously to help ensure every kiln is placed in responsible hands and operated in an appropriate and safe environment.
