Join us for a full day of fire, clay, and community in Southern Maine. Celebrate the art of Raku during Maine Craft Weekend with live kiln building demonstrations, hands-on pottery firings, and the chance to witness clay transformed by flame and smoke. Whether you're glazing and firing your own work or just stopping by to experience the magic, there's something for every craft lover. Workshops, demos, food, and fire all day long!

Observer Pass

  • Get up close to the action without getting your hands dirty. This pass grants you access to observe all Raku firing demos, kiln building, and the magic of transformation—from glowing clay to finished art. Perfect for art lovers, friends, and curious onlookers.

Participant Pass (Standard)

  • This hands-on pass includes glazing and Raku firing for up to 5 bisqued pottery pieces. You'll work alongside fellow artists, learn by doing, and take home uniquely transformed ceramic works fresh from the flames. You will also receive observer access to the Raku kiln building course.

  • $60.00 per person

Participant Pass (Premium)

  • For the truly fire-hungry. This hands-on pass includes glazing and Raku firing for up to 10 bisqued pottery pieces. You'll work alongside fellow artists, learn by doing, and take home uniquely transformed ceramic works fresh from the flames. Ideal for experienced potters or those bringing a body of work to finish in style. You will also receive observer access to the Raku kiln building course.

Group Pass (Standard)

  • Gather your crew and fire together. This group pass covers up to 4 participants and includes firing for up to 20 bisqued pieces total. Share the kiln, swap techniques, and enjoy a collaborative experience rooted in flame, smoke, and community.

  • Built for serious studio squads. This pass allows up to 4 participants to fire a combined total of 40 pieces. Ideal for schools, studios, or friends with a big body of work.

Raku Kiln Building Course

  • Join us in person for a guided, step-by-step demonstration of building a functional trash can-style Raku kiln. Perfect for potters who want to understand the process before building their own. Bring a notebook—photos and questions encouraged. No materials or take-home kiln included.

Build Your Own Raku Kiln

  • Leave with firepower. In this hands-on course, you’ll build your very own raku kiln from start to finish, guided by an experienced instructor. All materials are included, and you’ll take your completed kiln home, ready to fire. Limited spots available due to materials and space.
